Established back in 2006, the Benton County Cleanup began as a means to accept household wastes from residents at no charge.  The Cleanup  accepts a wide range of household items such as electronics, used motor oil, paint, chemicals, batteries, fluorescent bulbs, old furniture, metal, and tires.  In addition, we partner with companies like Ironwood Shredding who will be on hand to shred your sensitive documents and Habitat for Humanity look forward to accepting donations of your useable household items.

FACTS ABOUT RECYCLING PAINT

Latex paint is recyclable, but oil-based paint is considered household hazardous waste (HHW) and should be disposed of safely.  Remove the lid from latex paint and allow the paint to dry out and harden completely. Adding cat litter or saw dust will help speed the drying process.  Once the paint has dried completely, it is safe to dispose of it in your regular household trash.  Oil-based paints should never be tossed in the trash.

Greenway Recycle Paint will be at the Cleanup to recycle your unwanted latex paint. Click on the logo to learn more about latex paint recycling.
